Thanks to its porosity, naturally occurring Agate can be readily dyed or stained. Dyed agate is produced this way and comes in many bright and vivid colours that follow the natural pattern of the stone. Dragon Vein Agate is one of these processes.

Sunstone is a type of feldspar that can often be yellow, orange or red and has a distinctive glitter called aventurescence. Sunstone’s lack of hardness means it is often used for earrings, small pendants and beads. It is a semi-precious gemstone and uncommon.

For this necklace, I was inspired by an autumn scene of red, orange and beige.

The golden and Venetian red shades of the flowers gave me the idea of red and beige. I combined the scarlet red pendant of Red vein agate with Red Carnelian, a natural agate drop in light beige and sunstone in beige beads. I have used gold charms, branded crystal beads and a branded crystal Terrenum pendant 24x12mm as a drop at the end of the red vein agate.
